Our Story

A family story, handed down from father to son in the heart of Messina

L'Antica Latteria is the fruit of a tradition handed down from father to son, transmitting a timeless passion. A reality now known by all Messinians, born almost a century ago in the heart of Messina and today a point of reference for those seeking authentic Sicilian granita, artisanal gelato, and quality pastries.

From our historic location on Via Luciano Manara, we have moved to our new home at Viale San Martino 150, a refined and welcoming establishment, almost on the corner of the main shopping street, a short walk from the Duomo and the port. Here we continue the same artisanal care as always: fresh whipped cream made several times a day, warm 'cu tuppu' brioches, and cannoli filled to order.

We are the only ones in Messina to have obtained VEGANOK certification, with a complete line of vegan croissants, cakes, and ice cream. Our elderflower and raspberry vegan croissant has been called «one of the best ever tasted». And for those seeking traditional flavors, the Chantilly and Wild Strawberry Cake and the Gianduia and Hazelnut Vegan Cake are among our customers' most beloved products.

This is the philosophy that guides every choice we make. From the selection of raw materials to artisanal preparation, we prefer to do less but do it better. That's why we whip fresh cream several times a day, fill cannoli only at the moment, and produce everything in-house: gelatos, brioches, cakes, and vegan pastries. This is what has made us a benchmark for Messina.

Behind the counter hides a large laboratory where we prepare sweets, gelatos, and granitas every day. The cream is whipped fresh several times a day, the cannoli are filled only at the time of order, and the 'cu tuppu' brioches are baked warm. Our Chantilly and Wild Strawberry Cake and the Gianduia and Vegan Hazelnut Cake are among the most beloved products by customers.

Our process requires time and care, but it is the only way to guarantee the quality our customers recognize.
